Her remarks highlighted the project’s focus on Best Management Practices (BMPs), cross-sectoral collaboration, and inclusive innovation in building resilience against climate challenges.
Engagement, Awareness, and Outreach
Throughout the three-day forum, WATDEV contributed actively to the EU–Egyptian Initiatives in the Mediterranean booth, engaging with stakeholders from across the agricultural sector, including researchers, farmers, students, and policy makers.
At the EU booth, the WATDEV team showcased its latest tools, and field-based approaches and interventions aimed at supporting farmers adapt to evolving climate and market challenges. The booth generated significant interest from diverse groups:
University students expressed strong interest in joining sustainability-focused initiatives through research, internships, and volunteering.
Farm owners and agricultural practitioners sought information on how to access WATDEV’s training programmes, digital agriculture tools, and technical support for enhancing farm productivity and sustainability.
Discussions often revolved around the practical implementation of WATDEV strategies, including the use of digital agriculture, potential funding mechanisms, and collaborative opportunities for local communities.
