The Vetiver System has many agricultural uses: soil and water conservation, soil moisture improvement, groundwater recharge, recycling soil nutrients, pest control, mulch, forage, cleanup of agricultural contaminated wastewater, protection of farm infrastructure (canals, drains, roads, and building sites).
